Who Wants to Pay for the Chargers?

So, the San Diego Chargers want a new stadium. Problem is, there could potentially be a taxpayer situation involved. This can be a sticky situation in a a lot of cases looking at what has happened around the country.

It is estimated that the team would need $600 million in public subsidies to pay for a new stadium, about half of the $1.2 billion The primary site looked at is in Mission Valley at Qualcomm Stadium.

Another idea being kicked around is putting higher taxation fees on visitors by upping the cost of car rental and hotel taxes.

Do you think it’s a good idea to have the public subsidize a new home for the team?
