White House Launches Opportunity Zone Website
The White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council launched its new Opportunity Zone website, www.OpportunityZones.gov. The website’s goal is to provide information to stakeholders interested in the Opportunity Zones program.
As of now, the website is offering the basics, such as the legislation itself, a map of Opportunity Zones, government contracting opportunities, relevant tax forms and overall information about the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which launched the O-zone program. Meanwhile, the “news” section focuses on national and state information about Opportunity Zone developments and initiatives. The website also has a focus on state agencies and organizations, with information on state-specific Opportunity Zone incentives and developments.
The White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council was established in December 2018, with the purpose of overseeing and Opportunity Zone program, and engaging in state, local and tribal governments “to find ways to better use public funds to revitalize urban and economically distressed communities,” according to the website.
