Whirlpool Inks $179M Sale-Leaseback in Ohio, Tennessee

CBRE recently represented Whirlpool in a $178.9-million sale leaseback, which included 3.1 million square feet of industrial real estate consisting of four distribution centers in Ohio, one manufacturing facility in Tennessee and two office sites in Italy.

Bruce Westwood-Booth, Guy Ponticiello, Maury Vanden Eykel, and Kyle Sals of CBRE represented Whirlpool in the transaction. The four distribution centers were in Marion, Findlay, Ottawa and Clyde, OH, while the manufacturing facility was in Cleveland, TN.

“We are seeing increased interest in sale leasebacks from our client’s with multi-continent real estate holdings, so firms with the capability to purchase geographically diverse portfolios have a distinct advantage,” said Westwood-Booth.

This is the second SLB that the CBRE team has completed with Whirlpool. Last year, CBRE advised Whirlpool on a transaction in Mexico that was the largest single-asset and single-tenant industrial deal in that country’s history.
