What’s Driving LA’s Food Hall Craze?

There are a number of food halls scattered across SoCal. Foodies know about long-standing food hall concepts, such as DTLA’s Grand Central Market, the Original Farmers Market, and the new Eataly underway at Westfield’s Century City.

The emergence of Los Angeles as a foodie destination continues to take root with the growing trend of food-related retail in urban environments.

New entrants include venues farther west in Venice and Santa Monica. This category is also experiencing more growth in DTLA, Silver Lake, and Hollywood to the east. Perhaps one of the latest entrants in the food hall craze is in the Arts District, an up-and-coming area where it is anticipated dynamic new chefs will rise in popularity.

Cushman & Wakefield’s retail team details the rise of LA’s “foodie culture” trend in its latest Cool Streets video.
