Weston Urban Widens Downtown Stake, Acquires 32K-SF Building

Weston Urban acquired a 32,000-square-foot, vintage building at North Flores and West Commerce in downtown San Antonio. The buyer, which is also developing the nearby 460,000-square-foot Frost Tower, struck the deal for the 103-year-old building with a private partnership.

Right now, plans are to convert 10,000 square feet on the second floor into creative office space. Weston Urban also owns the parking lot behind the recently-purchased property.

The building at 201 W. Commerce St. once housed a Kress five-and-dime store, and Melrose apparel store. Current tenants include VIA Metropolitan Transit, 7-Eleven and Metro PCS. “In that spot with that product, I think there’s silly demand,” Weston Urban’s Randy Smith told Rivard Report.
