Weston Urban Starts Work on The Continental Block

Weston Urban broke ground on The Continental Block, a San Antonio district that will see the rehabilitation of The Continental Hotel building at 332 West Commerce St., the rehab of a few historic homes on site and the construction of a 16-story affordable apartment tower. Between the tower and the upper floors of the hotel building, 318 apartment units are scheduled to come online in 2025.

The San Antonio Business Journal reports the former hotel’s ground floor will be converted to retail. The Arana building will be reworked for office and retail uses, while the De La Garza House will be rehabbed and turned over to Bexar County.

Weston Urban says it began in 2012 as an effort to attract and retain San Antonio’s new generation of talent by reviving the city’s center. With primary services in development, leasing, and lending, Weston Urban has helped to create and define the San Antonio skyline through historic redevelopment and ground-up construction.
