Westfield UTC’s Expansion Includes Several Eateries

Westfield, the owner of many shopping malls across California as well as the globe, is pumping up its Westfield UTC location in La Jolla with several new restaurants as part of an overall expansion.

Westfield UTC’s makeover will reportedly cost $500 million. The mall has already undergone an $188-million facelift that was completed in 2012, that brought 24 Hour Fitness in as a tenant. Nordstrom is also coming as part of a next phase.

Westfield officials declined to give the names of the new restaurants, due to lease negotiations, but it’s safe to assume that there is a lot more in store for the mall. Westfield UTC’s expansion will include 400,000 square feet of leasable space that is expected for completion in 2017.
