Westfield Old Orchard Mall Unveils Luxury Apartment Plans

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), the European commercial real estate company, behind the ongoing multi-phase redevelopment of Westfield Old Orchard Mall, has given more details and named a local developer for the project’s next phase.

Chicago-based Focus will be the general contractor and codeveloper with URW on the mall’s $100 million redevelopment, with plans to build nearly  400 luxury apartments and 15,000 square feet of retail space. The project will break ground next year and slated for completion in 2027.

The vacant former Bloomingdale’s store will be demolished to make space for new luxury apartments and amenities including a pool, lounge, and gym. Plans also call for a park and event space within the shopping center.

The apartments will be in addition to other renovations of the mall. In October, it was announced that Westfield Old Orchard would be adding home furnishings brand Arhaus, high-tech mini golf experience Puttshack, and top fashion brand ZARA in the former Lord & Taylor space.

Register today for Connect Phoenix Multifamily & Single-Family Build-to-Rent, scheduled for April 18 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, Scottsdale, AZ.
