Western Governors University Opens Headquarters in DC’s Navy Yard
Western Governors University (WGU) officially opened its Washington, D.C., office, located in a 7,211-square-foot office near Capitol Hill at 80 M St. SE in the city’s Navy Yard neighborhood.
The new space will serve as a central location for collaboration on the workforce challenges and educational needs, while supporting the university’s regional operations, federal policy work, and partnerships. “This office is about bringing people together,” said Dr. K.L. Allen, regional vice president, WGU. “The challenges facing today’s workforce can’t be solved by one organization alone.”
The Washington, D.C., office builds on WGU’s existing presence across the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region, where the university serves more than 4,600 students and has nearly 8,300 alumni. “By working alongside employers, educators, policymakers and community partners, we can create more pathways for learners to earn a degree, advance their careers and meet the workforce needs of our region,” added Allen.
