West77 Partners Updates Plan for Bellevue’s Washington Square Expansion

West77 Partners has reconfigured and reduced development plans for the Washington Square Expansion mixed-use project in Bellevue. The 1.8-acre downtown site is now envisioned for a 20-story office tower and an eight-story, 210-room hotel at 10620 Northeast 8th St.

The project originally encompassed a 224-room Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel and a 20-story office tower on a 1.52-acre site. The project was slated to commence construction in winter 2020/2021.

The developer is exploring a trio of possible approaches to the plan, including building both components at the same time, or moving ahead on the hotel first before starting the office, or tackling the office project first. West77 Partners selected The Hotel Group to manage the hotel project slated to open in 2022.

The site is adjacent to West77 Partners’ other hotel project, Hilton Garden Inn, and represents one of the final phases of development on the Washington Square Superblock.
