West Elm Opens Outlet at Industry City

West Elm has opened its first New York City outlet at Industry City in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park. The 35-acre creative campus is owned by Belvedere Capital, Jamestown and Angelo, Gordon & Co.

West Elm’s new 15,000-square-foot location builds upon the company’s growing presence at Industry City, which currently houses West Elm Makers Studio, a 120,000-square-foot creative workspace for artists, designers and craftsmen. The in-house design and photo studio was established at Industry City in 2015.

“West Elm is a Brooklyn-born brand, and it is only fitting that they open their first NYC-based outlet at Industry City,” said Jim Somoza, director of development for Industry City. “The new location sits among the best-in-class design retail with Design Within Reach, Restoration Hardware, ABC Carpet & Home and Porcelanosa, while also part of a broader creative community of furniture retailers, makers, architects and design firms.”
