West Canal Yards Development Opens on Seattle’s Waterfront
West Canal Yards, Seattle’s new waterfront development, is now open.
Designed by Graham Baba Architects, the 334,000-square-foot site includes a 132,565-square-foot building and a 48,526-square-foot building. Situated at 1100–1120 W. Ewing Street, in the heart of the city’s historic marine district, the West Canal Yards project was designed to revitalize the Ship Canal in Queen Anne.
“West Canal Yards is where Seattleites will be able to work and play alongside the city’s working waterways, honoring the industrial nature of the site while creating a modern, vibrant environment for everyone,” said Howard Klein, part-owner of West Canal Yards and one of the visionaries behind the project.
In 2019, Klein partnered with Unico Properties LLC, with Unico managing the development and acting as the property manager of West Canal Yards. The mix of tenants includes industrial and maritime businesses to creative and retail spaces. The development offers move-in-ready suites and amenities such as showrooms, tasting rooms, consumer industrial purposes, ancillary offices and flexible workspaces.
