Wentworth Planning 78K-SF Academic Building
Wentworth Institute of Technology will develop its first new academic building in close to half a century, with help from a $41.3 million MassDevelopment bond. The private university will build a 78,000-square-foot multipurpose academic building on its Boston campus, at 555 Parkers St., with the funds.
The new building will house many programs, including biomedical engineering, biomedical, civil engineering and experimental learning programs. The facility will also offer space for labs, offices and presentation areas. Additionally, it will be home to Accelerate, Wentworth’s entrepreneur center.
Gilbane Building Co. is the project’s construction manager, and Leers Weinzapfel Associates Architects of Boston is the architect.
