Welltower Snags Texas Oncology Center

Welltower Inc., a medical property REIT headquartered in Toledo, OH, acquired the 40,000-square-foot office of Texas Oncology-San Antonio Medical Center in San Antonio. The facility opened in August 2017 at 5206 Research Dr. on the north side of the metro, and was sold by the developer, Cambridge Holdings Inc. of Dallas. The purchase price was undisclosed.

The facility replaced Texas Oncology’s previous office on Medical Drive, and has seven procedure rooms, eight lab rooms, 52 chemotherapy chairs and more than 30 exam rooms. Also on-site are a pharmacy and outdoor healing garden. The building is San Antonio’s largest cancer-care center.
