Weitzman Ups its Research Game with VP Hire

Rob Darnell recently joined Weitzman as vice president of research for the firm’s statewide operations. Darnell will direct the activities of a team specializing in location intelligence.

“Rob brings a wealth of experience to Weitzman, having previously served more than 14 years as director of research for a statewide retail real estate firm,” said Marshall Mills, president and CEO of Weitzman. “Research and data innovation are critical to the success of our business and the growth of our market share, which requires a professional with Rob’s expertise in commercial real estate research and customer analytics.”

Darnell specializes in offering insight and location intelligence via spatial, demographic and psychographic analyses.

“Rob has a reputation for integrity, transparency, client service and team building, and he will play a key role in Weitzman’s revised and enhanced approach to building a proficient and innovative team of research professionals who can utilize and customize our latest acquisition of cutting-edge tools such as ESRI and Placer.ai,” says Mills.

Lisa Brown has decades of experience in corporate communications and marketing management with organizations including Coldwell Banker Residential, Grubb & Ellis, Marcus & Millichap, NAIOP, SIOR and ALM. In those positions, she worked in conjunction with chief executive officers and chief marketing officers to create corporate messaging, cohesive branding standards, strategic marketing plans and thought pieces. Brown is a frequent speaker at industry events and an editing adjunct professor for an online course. She has a master’s degree in mass communications from San Jose State University.
