Weidner Pays $81.5M For Charlotte Apartment Community

Weidner Apartment Homes closed on the $81.5 million purchase of Retreat at McAlpine Creek Apartments from Waterton.

The 400-unit, garden-style apartment community at 6800 Fishers Farm Lane is in south Charlotte, just a few miles from Pineville. It was built in 1988 and includes 36 apartment buildings with one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans as well 44 townhomes across 18.6 acres. Monthly rental rates range between $1,255 and $2,020.

The Charlotte Business Journal reports Waterton paid $60.5 million for the property in December 2018. That sale was part of a $169 million portfolio acquisition that included 1,148 units spread throughout four complexes in Charlotte, Raleigh and Cary.
