Wayfair Shopping in Dallas for New E-Commerce Hub
Wayfair, the giant online home furnishings and decor retailer, is exploring sites in North Texas for an e-commerce shipping hub. The Boston-based company is honing in on sites along Dallas’ Interstate 20 corridor for a warehouse reported to be in the 875,000-square-foot range.
One potential option that appears to be a front-runner is a 35-acre site near the intersection of Interstate 35E and 20 in Lancaster. That is near a Union Pacific Railway terminal, and FedEx’s shipping facility in Hutchins.
The company confirmed it is considering the area for a future facility, though has not yet nailed down a lease agreement. Wayfair opened distribution centers last year near Atlanta and in Greensboro, NC.
