Wayfair building physical store in Atlanta

Wayfair Building $18.7M Atlanta Store

Wayfair Inc. is moving away from being a strictly e-commerce retailer and is starting to build physical stores. The new store will be located at 1801 Howell Mill Rd NW within The District at Howell Mill, a shopping center in Atlanta’s Upper Westside neighborhood.

Set to open in 2026, the 150,000-square-foot space will offer an immersive, one-stop shopping destination for furniture, home decor, housewares, appliances, and home improvement essentials. It the second store the company has built, the first being just outside Chicago. Public documents estimate the cost of the project at $18.7 million.

Many items are available to purchase and take home that day. For bigger items like sofas, the store’s proximity to Wayfair’s fulfillment center in McDonough, GA will allow for fast delivery.

Fraser Gough and Benton Green of Retail Planning Corporation represented the lease transaction. The property is owned by JLL Income Property Trust and Selig Enterprises, a 108-year-old, family-owned and operated real estate development company based in Atlanta.
