Waterton Hires Former City Attorney as Associate GC

Waterton has hired William Aguiar as associate general counsel. Aguiar brings more than 20 years’ legal and operations experience to the Chicago-based firm.

“It’s a privilege to welcome Bill to our team as he has shown himself to be a highly-skilled attorney and business partner with deep expertise in the legal and operations fields,” said Erin Ankin, general counsel at Waterton. “We are confident that he will be an excellent addition to the Waterton team.”

Prior to joining Waterton, Aguiar worked for the City of Chicago for more than 17 years.  He began his career with the city as an attorney in the Constitutional and Commercial Litigation Division of the Department of Law, focusing on land use and zoning litigation.  He subsequently served as a deputy commissioner, chief operating officer and general counsel for the city’s Department of Planning & Development.
