Waterpark Part of $20M Montgomery County Amenity Package
The days of building an apartment complex or a subdivision with just a pool and a gym are over. Developers are finding the bar keeps getting raised. Caldwell Communities recognizes that and is moving forward on a $20 million amenity complex with a waterpark in their new Highlands community in Porter.
The developer broke ground this month on the first phase of Discovery Cove, a 20-acre park that will include a resort-style pool with a natural feel, tall water slides, a lazy river with grottos and coves, splash pads, tennis and pickleball courts, an event lawn, pavilions, recreational fields and a main building with a gym and community areas.
βIt will contain just about every element of an amenity center that you can imagine,β said Caldwell Communities Peter Barnhart.
The waterpark is slated to open next summer. Then construction will start on the second phase, which will include the fitness center building.
