Want to Own a Town? Bankersmith is Up for Sale

Bankersmith, a ghost town listed for sale in Central Texas, is now up for sale, at a lower price. The town, which initially went on the market in January 2017 for $1.5 million, now has an asking price of $975,000. SkylesBayne, an Austin-based commercial real estate company, is marketing the 1.6-acre town, which includes a dance hall, a saloon and an old-school tour bus.

At one point, ATX Brands, which owns Bikinis Sports Bar and Grill, owned the ghost town, which operated under Bikinis, TX. Nearby residents weren’t thrilled with the restaurant, and the town reverted back to the name Bankersmith, with the property at 7905 Old San Antonio Rd. these days used as a venue for private events.

ATX Brands’ founder Doug Guller said he put the property up for sale because “Fredricksburg real estate is in high demand, and we’d love to see it realize its potential,” he told the Austin American-Statesman.
