Walton Global Hopes to Bring a Once-Revered Paradise Valley Hotel Back to Life
In its heyday, the Smoke Tree Resort in Paradise Hotel was a getaway retreat for the rich and famous. Now, the abandoned hotel in one of Arizona’s nicest zip codes, has a new owner with big plans for the once-adored resort.
Nine months after acquiring the Smoke Tree Resort in Paradise Valley, Walton Global is ready to move forward on plans for redeveloping the property. The developer has been working with the town to bring its new idea to life. The result is a proposed 82-room boutique resort with two culinary concepts — an all-day market bistro and a dinner-only fine dining restaurant.
Built in 1954, the new version will include exclusive guest casitas with their own plunge pools and as well as resort-style pool in the center of the project. The developers expect the project to take a few years to get off the ground.
