Walmart Leases Former Amazon Space in Bellevue Tower
Walmart Inc. has taken up space left vacant after Amazon opted to let a 56,000-square-foot lease in Bellevue’s Skyline Tower lapse last month.
The departure was noted in an earnings report by Kilroy Realty Corp., owner of the 24-story building, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal. Walmart is leasing 98,000 square feet across the six, seventh, eighth, 12th and 13th floors of Skyline Tower, according to the outlet citing CoStar data.
Last year, Amazon signaled its plans to reduce its Seattle area footprint and move out of a Denny Triangle office building. The company also moved employees after it declined to renew its lease in Seattle’s West 8th tower. “We continuously evaluate our corporate office needs to best serve Amazon’s businesses, employees and customers,” said an Amazon spokesperson.
Located at 10900 NE 4th Street, Skyline Tower has over 429,000 square feet of office space, and the property is 99.3% leased, with 89.7% of the tower being occupied.
