Wage Hike Proposed for Inland Empire Warehouse Employees
To learn more about issues such as the one detailed below, check out the Connect Inland Empire conference on Sept. 10 at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.
The industrial sector of commercial real estate is obviously huge in the Inland Empire and one of the region’s largest employers. But workers in those warehouses aren’t being paid a living wage and not provided with health insurance, according to a recent report.
Researchers as UC Riverside said that upping the minimum wage would greatly help these employees. The group would like to see the minimum wage increase to $15 and have lower deductibles for warehouse employee’s health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
