WA-based aerospace manufacturer eyeing move to Dallas

WA Propulsion System Company Eyeing N. Texas for Plant/HQ

Airborne Motorworks is looking at Dallas-Fort Worth for a new manufacturing facility and headquarters site. The company’s key employees have roots in Texas and The Dallas Morning News says the Spokane, Washington-based company is strongly considering North Texas for a potentially large factory. If the company does decide to move, it would begin with at least 50 employees and potentially grow to several hundred workers or more. The company says it wants to be in production by the end of 2024.

Airborne develops next-generation wind turbines and aviation propulsion systems with wide-ranging applications. The company has patented a new technology designed around revolutionary electromagnetic motors that can be used for propulsion in aviation-related products and for energy generation through wind turbines. The technology is net-zero compliant, meaning it does not give off greenhouse gases or carbon dioxide emissions. The company says its turbines are far lighter than current comparable motors and generate very little heat or noise.
