W. Palm Beach Developer Eyeing 25-Story Apartment Tower

Developer Jeff Greene is making a pitch to build a 399-unit, mixed-income apartment complex in West Palm Beach. The project would also include 7,557 square feet of retail.

The S. Florida Business Journal reports Greene wants to incorporate a pre-fabricated mass timber system. The nearly one-acre site would be at 120 S. Dixie Highway. It is currently the site of an abandoned fire station that Greene would incorporate into the project’s main floor. Greene still needs the town’s final okay.

Workforce apartments would be on floors two through four plus six through 11. Market-rate units would be on floors 12 and up. The building would have an amenity deck on the fifth floor with a pool, fitness room, lounge, yoga room, private dining area, and grilling stations.

Greene said the higher prices in the units on the upper floors would subsidize the workforce housing on the lower floors. He hasn’t decided whether the market-rate housing would be condos or rentals.
