VulcanForms WiIl Add Third Boston-Area Advanced Manufacturing Facility

VulcanForms, a Devens, MA-based company reportedly building the first fully integrated digital metal manufacturing platform in the U.S., will use a $220-milion late-stage funding round to build another Boston-area factory. The company has existing facilities in Devens and Newburyport and will build a second Devens plant, VulcanThree.

“As part of this broader expansion, we are also planning for the VulcanForms Campus, a multi-facility environment that unites material production, additive manufacturing, post-processing, and machining within one integrated footprint,” VulcanForms CEO Kevin Kassekert said in a blog posting Friday.

He added that the expansion was “part of a broader shift taking place in the United States. Companies are bringing critical production back home and reducing reliance on offshore manufacturing for strategic metals and components. We see this across our customer base. More teams are designing with domestic production in mind from the beginning.”

The Boston Business Journal reported that VulcanThree could be operational by July.

Don’t Miss Carter Andrus, Chief Operating Officer of Prologis, as the keynote interview at Connect Industrial Midwest.— taking place Tuesday afternoon, March 10, 2026, at Joe’s Live in Rosemont, IL.
