Vornado Realty Trust has completed the transformation of 33rd Street into Plaza33, a pedestrian plaza in Midtown. Developed through a partnership with the NYC Department of Transportation, the plaza features trees, landscaping, stone benches, and seating areas. Plaza33 aims to enhance the neighborhood and provide a connection to transit, amenities, and over 70 new food and beverage offerings.  

The project includes special entertainment programming and is part of Vornado’s $2.7 billion investment in THE PENN DISTRICT, which features renovated office buildings, the Bustle, and the redevelopment of the Farley Post Office into Meta’s new headquarters and the Moynihan Train Hall.  

“As we continue to break jobs records and drive down crime, we are embarking on a new chapter of our city’s economic recovery by advancing projects that will make life in New York City even better,” said New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
