Vornado Elevates CIO Franco to Presidency

Vornado Realty Trust (VNO) has made some key leadership changes, naming Michael Franco as the company’s president and appointing two co-heads of real estate. Franco has been with VNO since 2011, most recently serving as EVP and CIO.

“Michael is super smart, experienced, measured, understands risk and can see opportunity,” VNO chairman Steven Roth wrote in his just-released annual letter to shareholders. “He is a real estate lifer who knows well our industry and financial counterparties.”

Glen Weiss and Barry Langer have been named co-heads of real estate at VNO, while continuing to serve as EVPs of office leasing and development, respectively. Langer has been with the company since 2003, while Langer joined in 1997 with VNO’s acquisition of the Mendik Company.

Another Mendik alumnus, David R. Greenbaum, has been named vice chairman of VNO. Previously he served as president of the REIT’s New York division.
