Publicly-traded developer Boston Properties has secured a 196,000-square-foot office lease with Volkswagen Group of America at the 1.1 million-square-foot next phase of the Reston Town Center mixed-use development in Reston, VA.

Reston Town Center is an urban center located in Northern Virginia and is home to more than 3 million square feet of office space, more than 50 retailers, 30 restaurants, and 2,000 residential homes. The new phase of Reston Town Center will include a two tower, 1.1 million square foot office development referred to as Reston Next. When completed, the full extension of Reston Town Center will add more than 4.4 million square feet, including over six acres of public open space.

JLL represented Volkswagen Group of America in the transaction. Terms included a 20-year lease agreement. Boston Properties’ current portfolio totals 51.2 million square feet and 196 properties, including seven properties under construction or redevelopment.
