Harlem Biospace will open an incubator space at the Mink Building in Janus Property Company's Manhattanville Factory District

Volastra Expands Mink Building Space by 40%

The Janus Property Company has signed a 40% lab expansion with Volastra Therapeutics at the Mink Building in West Harlem’s Manhattanville Factory District. Having moved from an incubator space at JLabs in Lower Manhattan into an 11,000-square-foot lab at the Mink Building in 2020, Volastra is expanding to more than 15,000 square feet.

“Janus has been an excellent partner for our operational needs,” said Charles Hugh-Jones, M.D., CEO of Volastra. “Our lab facility, purpose-built by them, is first class.”

He added, “In addition to its functionality, this location in West Harlem has enabled us to attract the top talent we need as we advance our research and our clinical programs. As we continue to expand, we are pleased to partner with Janus, which allows us to focus on the science and its impact for patients.”

The tenant recently extended its original $12 million in seed financing to $44 million.
