Virtual Reality Amusement Park Planned
Los Angeles-based Two Bit Circus is planning to open a 30,000-square-foot amusement park in Los Angeles. The DTLA entertainment firm raised $15 million in Series B capital, and is scouting for retail sites in SoCal for a brick-and-mortar version of its traveling carnival and immersive online experience.
The next generation micro-amusement park will showcase cutting-edge high-tech entertainment and original content. That includes multi-person virtual reality and mixed reality, social play experiences, group games, molecular gastronomy and mixology, complete with a liberal use of lasers, fire, and robots.
Two Bit Circus’ Brent Bushnell says they want to move beyond the limits of pop-up experiences. Previously, its science-focused experiences were staged in one-off educational carnivals, as well as games corporate customers used at company events and trade shows.
