Villanova Team Takes Top Honors in NAIOP NJ Student Challenge
Villanova University took top honors and the $5,000 prize in NAIOP New Jersey’s Sixth Annual University Challenge Case Study Competition. The students joined teams from Baruch College, Monmouth University and Montclair State University in presenting concepts for site sponsor Blue Onyx Companies’ redevelopment of a former silk mill in Paterson.
Each of the case studies focused on identifying and incorporating the site’s historic and regulatory requirements, as well as providing a mix of live/work, experiential retail and dedicated creative space. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all teams made their presentations to the judges via ZOOM.
The winning team was to be announced at NAIOP NJ’s Industry Insights dinner, originally scheduled for earlier this month. The Villanova team of Hunter Cuthbertson, Kyle Keenan, Elliott Eyring and Matthew Winschuh has been invited to attend and be recognized at NAIOP NJ’s President’s Awards Dinner in November.
