VersaTerra Planning Extensive SA Development
San Antonio developer VersaTerra is planning a massive mixed-use project at Loop 410 and New Sulphur Springs Road. The San Antonio Business Journal reports besides as many as 5,000 homes, the developer is setting aside 700 acres of commercial and industrial development.
The project will be constructed on a sprawling 2,000-acre parcel. A joint venture between VersaTerra and R City Developments will develop the parcel together. R City, a family-owned company from Mexico, owns the parcel.
Development is slated for a 15-year turnaround. VersaTerra is currently zoning and entitling the property, and the developer expects to break ground around spring of next year. For now, the name of the project is Desarollo El Rancho, but it could change.
The project is in proximity to Brooks, the Toyota Motor Manufacturing facility and the anticipated site for a new JCB facility.
