VC Firm a16z Commits to SoHo Offices

San Francisco-based venture capital firm Andreesen Horowitz (a16z) has signed a 10-year lease at 200 Lafayette St. In SoHo to house its New York offices. The 33,560-square-foot space will replace a16z’s current Manhattan offices at 11 Madison Ave.

A key business line out of the new office will be a16z’s $3.1-billion crypto fund. The firm’s portfolio companies reportedly are also looking for space amid the growth of the burgeoning VC community in New York.

AEW is the management company for 200 Lafayette, while Swiss RE is the landlord. Full buildout for the a16z office is anticipated by the end of 2022.

Building ownership was represented by a JLL agency leasing team of Barbara Winter and Carlee Palmer, while Current Real Estate Advisors’ Adam Henick and Brandon Charnas represented a16z. JC Penney was previously in this space.
