VanTrust Taps JLL to Lease Des Moines-Area Spec Industrial

JLL has been selected to market VanTrust Real Estate’s second development in Iowa, a 496,800-square-foot cross-dock warehouse at Altus Commerce Center in Altoona, within the Des Moines metro area. With delivery expected in January 2023, this facility is reportedly the state’s largest speculative industrial.

This follows the announcement of VanTrust’s entrance into the market this past May with the center’s first building, a 265,200-square-foot ground-up warehouse slated for summer 2022 delivery. JLL managing director Marcus Pitts, VP Austin Hedstrom and analyst Tanner Hedstrom lead leasing efforts for both buildings.

“With an industrial vacancy rate of sub-3%, still well below the national average, central Iowa remains a hotspot for new businesses, startups and companies looking for connectivity throughout the Midwest,” said Austin Hedstrom. “VanTrust’s ability to successfully bring two different product types to the market within a year of each other is a testament to the unwavering demand here.”
