UW Behavioral Facility One Step Closer to Completion
Structural steel is now complete on the new Behavioral Health Teaching Facility at the University of Washington Medical Center-Northwest campus in Seattle. Clark|Abbott, the joint venture team leading design and construction efforts joined University of Washington officials for a topping out ceremony to celebrate the milestone.
Designed by SRG Partnership, the new six-story facility will include 150 patient beds and 184,000 square feet of clinical and administrative space. The project will also feature a 24/7 telehealth consultation program, neuromodulation as well as space to conduct workforce training and development for behavioral health providers.
Since breaking ground in October of 2021, the Clark|Abbott team has erected over 1,700 tons of steel to bring the facility to full height, and will now shift their focus to fireproofing, adding concrete to metal decks and enclosure.
