Uvalde Memorial Unveils $83M, 180K-SF Facility

Uvalde Memorial Hospital is moving forward with a hospital replacement project in the form of a two-story, 180,000-square-foot facility, which is southeast of the current hospital at 1025 Garner Field Rd. The $83-million project in this South Texas city is scheduled for a late 2020 completion.

The larger layout is geared to meet the expanding healthcare needs of those living in Uvalde, Real, Kinney, Zavala and Edwards counties. The current, 170,000-square-foot hospital building will remain operational until completion of the newer facility. The new campus is focused on a shift from inpatient to outpatient services, according to UMH Chief Executive Officer Tom Nordwick.
