UTSA’s Next Step: Roadrunner Village

Less than a month after unveiling plans for a major downtown expansion, the University of Teas at San Antonio is at it again with another reveal. Specifically, the school announced plans for Roadrunner Village, a 20-acre development that will offer a mix of market-rate housing, retail, casual dining and a grocery store. The first phase of the project is expected to provide between 1,000-1,500 units for UTSA faculty, staff and upper-class students.

A timeline for construction of Roadrunner Village has not yet been determined. The development will be situated between Ximenes Avenue and Bauerle Road.

UTSA is also planning two new residential projects. One of the developments will house freshmen on UTSA’s main campus. Construction is expected to begin on the 360-bed property in fall 2019, with completion scheduled for 2021. The other development, a residential honors college, will be open to honors students, but no construction timeline was released.
