UTSA targeting CBD for Cybersecurity Hub

The University of Texas at San Antonio — UTSA — is pursuing placing its National Security Collaboration Center at its downtown San Antonio campus. The five-story center, which is estimated to cost approximately $40 million, is expected to be 100,000 square feet.

The university has signed agreements with Loki Labs, Microsoft Corp., Noblis, LGS Innovations, IOMAXIS, Accenture, PwC, Raytheon, Polaris and IPSecure to be part of the center. UTSA is negotiating with an additional seven companies as well.

The U.S. Army Research Laboratory and the National Security Agency in Texas already have a presence on UTSA’s main campus. The plans for the collaboration center call for those offices to be brought together, and a secure facility for classified research to be built.
