UTSA Plans Major Downtown Expansion
The University of Texas at San Antonio unveiled its plans for a major downtown expansion on land owned by the city and Bexar County. The city parcels will hold the university’s National Security Collaboration Center and the School of Data Science. Meanwhile, the county land is planned for a new College of Business the university wants to build.
The five-acre total plot is bounded by South Santa Rosa Avenue and Dolorosa, South Flores and West Nueva Streets.
The university expects the expansion’s first phase to be finished by 2023. A second growth phase is expected to roll out between 2023 and 2028. This would focus on construction west of the existing downtown campus.
