UTSA Launches Construction on $95M Science and Engineering Building
The University of Texas at San Antonio broke ground on a new science and engineering building (SEB). The $95 million price tag will add 140,000 square feet of instruction labs and classrooms to the campus. The construction project is the largest in the institution’s history. Completion is anticipated by June 2020.
The additional space will provide more classrooms and meeting spaces for UTSA students and researchers that are focused on brain health, chemical engineering, biology and chemistry. These areas are important as UTSA advances toward tier one research status.
The architects of record are Alamo Architects and Treanor HL. Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is the general contractor. The building will be on the southeast portion of the campus, east of the Biotechnology Sciences and Engineering Building.
