UT Health San Antonio to spend $1B, add 1,500 jobs

UT Health San Antonio Planning $1 Billion Expansion, Adding 1,500 Jobs

UT Health San Antonio is undergoing a major expansion. A four year, billion dollar plan, which will include new construction and upgrades to current area facilities, is also expected to create more than 1,500 jobs over the next three years.

Some of the brick-and-mortar work tied to that investment is underway. Construction is progressing on a nearly $500 million UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital in the heart of the medical center scheduled to open next year.

Crews have also begun turning dirt in preparation for the build out of a $100 million Center for Brain Health. The new center is slated to open in 2025.

Meanwhile, construction is well under way on a $50 million outpatient and surgery center facility on Kyle Seale Parkway. UT Health San Antonio is also investing in transforming a multistory structure near its campus into a new Behavioral Health and Wellness Center. For a complete list, click on the link.
