UT Hard at Work Again – This Time in Tyler

Weeks after the University of Texas Board of Regents approved new engineering buildings for UT-RGV and UT of the Permian Basin, the institution has made its move in Tyler. Specifically, University of Texas at Tyler has launched construction on a new, $56 million College of Business and Technology building.

The facility will be located off University Drive, across the street from Steak and Shake and Republic Icehouse. The goal of the four-story, 140,000-square-foot building is to boost a campus enrollment goal of 14,000 students by 2020. The College of Business is UT Tyler’s largest school, accounting for 2,600 of the university’s 10,000 students.

When the new building is complete, UT Tyler will renovate the existing business school at 3900 University Blvd. The College of Arts and Science will move into the space.
