Urbanspace Real Estate & Interiors Takes Entire Floor in The Independent

Austin’s tallest building to date — The Independent — has found a tenant for ground-floor space. Urbanspace Real Estate & Interiors leased the ground-floor space, totaling 23,700 square feet, at the primarily residential property at 801 W. Fifth St.

The space is expected to open by the end of 2019, and will include office space for the real estate brokerage and interior design firm, as well as a furniture showroom. Also in development at the property are a coffee shop and bar.

The Independent consists of 363-unit luxury condominium units. The property is nicknamed the “Jenga Tower,” and it topped out in May 2018. Urbanspace is handling sales for the property.
