EQ Office has implemented the cove platform at Willis Tower in Chicago and plans further rollout this summer

Urbanspace Bringing Food Hall to Willis Tower Revamp

The $500-million overhaul of the Willis Tower will now include a food hall. London-based Urbanspace plans to open its first Chicago location within the 300,000-square-foot retail and entertainment podium that Blackstone’s EQ Office is developing at the base of the former Sears Tower.

“As a leading food hall operator, Urbanspace is pleased to be joining the Willis Tower,”  Urbanspace president Eldon Scott said. “The redevelopment creates the perfect setting for Urbanspace to establish an immersive public market where creativity and community can flourish.”

The Willis Tower location will be one of a number of high-profile food halls in the works for downtown Chicago. The publishers of Time Out magazines are planning one for the Fulton Market District, and restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff recently announced plans for a 16-station facility at the 900 North Michigan Shops. The proposed redevelopment of the Old Post Office includes a food hall.
