Los Angeles-based CIM Group’s proposed 5601 Santa Monica Boulevard mixed-use development emerged with a new design featuring an urban power center component. The East Hollywood site is planned to include 370,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, as well as 375 residential units.
The revised plan includes redeveloping the interior of the 116,000-square-foot, 1928-era Sears Building for single or multiple retailers. The rooftop of the three-story building will be converted into a 20,000-square-foot landscaped public park with walkways, benches, and seasonal programming for the community.
The leasing teams for the property include CBRE’s Richard Rizika and Xan Saks, as well as Kennedy Wilson’s Ed Sachse, Lee Shapiro and Michael Pakravan. The expected delivery of the project is early 2019.
