Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle Plans Mixed-Use Development Center

The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) has launched its Reclamation & Restoration Capital Campaign. The initiative will fund a new Empowerment Center at 23rd and Rainier in the Rainier Valley neighborhood, which will serve as the organization’s headquarters and include residential units.

The center will be an integrated program hub for residents, bringing together services across housing, education, workforce development, health, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and financial empowerment. Groundbreaking is planned for 2027. In addition to the ULMS headquarters, the center will include 157 units serving families between 30% and 60% of the area’s median income.

“These services will create an ecosystem of support and self-sufficiency,” said Josalyn Ford, Chief Advancement Officer of ULMS. “Expanding our successful programs into the Rainier Valley neighborhood will positively affect the entire city of Seattle.” The Reclamation & Restoration Capital Campaign is a phased, multiyear effort to reshape the region’s equity landscape.
