Urban Commons Completes $27M Renovation of Holiday Inn Resort Orlando

Los Angeles-based real estate investment and development firm Urban Commons completed the $27.5-million renovation and rebranding of the former Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando to the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites and Waterpark. The 24-acre, 777-room property is now the world’s largest Holiday Inn Resort.

Renovations to the property included updates to the guest rooms, lobby, lounge, meeting rooms and restrooms, as well as enhancements to the waterpark, which included new pool surfacing, cabanas, outdoor furniture and a designated yoga area. Several new food and beverage outlets were also added.

The lagoon waterpark at the heart of the resort offers a four-story water tower, 400-gallon water dump tank, climbing nets and two whirlpools. The resort also includes a basketball court and a nine-hole miniature golf course. Urban Commons acquired the Holiday Inn Orlando Suites and Waterpark in 2014.
