Upper West Side Rentals with Fancy Historic Details
May 1, 2017
Want to rent a studio with stained glass windows? Milan Associates has begun leasing 15 luxury apartments in a converted brownstone mansion in the heart of the Central Park Historic District.
“They have outdone themselves with the design, preservation and realization of 15 distinctive homes – nothing else on the Upper West Side is as amazing as these residences,” explains Douglas Wagner, director of brokerage services for BOND New York, which is leasing the apartments.
Originally built in 1896 by prolific brownstone architect Gilbert Schellenger, the apartments include marble baths, high ceilings and restored, original wooden mantels, paneling and moldings — in addition to independent climate control in each apartment and the usual stainless steel appliances. Rents start at $3,400-a-month, and rise to $4,700-a-month for the apartments ranging from 500-square-foot studios to 740-square-foot one-bedrooms.
